As the summer nears and the cool weather fades, we’re becoming more and more excited to get out of Florida. That’s right, we gots to go. It’s not a Sandals Resorts commercial down here people! It’s humid. It’s flat. It’s rainy, then sunny, then rainy again. It’s humid. And if it’s not an alligator, a shark, or a mosquito the size of a humming bird that tries to take you out, then you can guarantee it will be someone who doesn’t know how to drive. At this point, we’re almost positive that you can just get a license out of a vending machine at the local DMV. Oh, and did we mention that it’s HUMID! End rant.
But this place also has some great things to offer: Publix, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, $5 movie night at our local theater, Florida Beer Company, and oranges. The oranges are so sweet and wonderful this time of year and one of our favorite ways to enjoy them is to throw them in the juicer with some carrots and ginger.
This juice is sweet, refreshing, healthy, fresh, and simple.
We really love juicing and experimenting with all sorts of flavor combinations. The problem is that it can get pretty pricey once you start trying out recipes with a ton of ingredients. So, we try our best to stick to recipes that only require a few ingredients but are still packed with flavor and nutritious value.
Oranges are full of vitamins C and A. These vitamins give your immune system a boost, reduce bad cholesterol, and help to detoxify your system. Carrots are crazy healthy! They are great for your eyes, hair, and nails. Carrots also help to reduce bad cholesterol, aid in digestion, and increase the body’s oxygen carrying capacity with all of that iron they are packed with. Ginger is another soldier fighting against bad cholesterol and also has anti-inflammatory effects.
The bottom line is that this juice will leave you feeling absolutely wonderful. Enjoy a glass with breakfast and reap the benefits for the rest of your day.
Just peel your oranges and ginger, cut the tops off of your carrots, and you’re good to go. Juice your ingredients, stir, and enjoy!
Look at that beautiful, bright color!
But this is no work of art, drink up!
Now, what are you going to do with all that pulp? Well, you could use it in other recipes, add it to your compost pile, or…
Give it to your best furry friend! This is Ray Allen and he loves fruits and veggies. He’ll be making an appearance on this blog when he feels like it.

If you’re on a budget looking for a great juicer, we highly recommend the Magic Bullet NJB-0801 Juice Bullet, Gray. Ours is about four years old and is still going strong!
